The foundation
Ephesians 4:11 to 13.
Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith.
The building
The church is built to a pattern.
The Alliance believes the church is a spiritual habitation, built to a design. God the Father is the Architect. Christ is the building code: whoever builds must hear his word and put it into practice, and the foundation is the Rock, Christ Jesus. The Holy Spirit supervises the construction, and his leading must be followed for the building to stand.
The builder cannot go against the Architect. So the work is not accomplished by human strength, but by the Spirit of God, according to the pattern set forth in the Word.
